RIDER?S

(The Lost Story)

By Brooklen Borne

People have treated other people inhumanely since the prehistoric times. The so called superior race would treat their captives as sub-human. The captive people had their lives altered when they were taken from their families against their will, never to see them again. The reason for the mistreatment was because of ones race, color, creed, gender or nationality. Only some of these atrocities are documented in history books across the globe.

Those who fiercely resisted against their captors, were decapitated and had their heads placed on barrels at the gangplanks, to deter others from getting any ideas; of being resistant. Crowed on ships and chained together with not an inch between them to move, the freedom they once enjoyed, was a delicacy of the past; never to have again. Once on the high seas, going to a far away land of the unknown, with so much fear and sickness amongst them, many died where they lie; still chained to the barely living. For others that were healthy the beatings, the rapes, the deaths of family and friends were just too unbearable; so when they got the chance, they jumped into the deep blue salty water, trying to swim back to their familiar land. Unfortunately, it was a jump to their death, by way of drowning or a meal for the sharks.

When the ships reached Jamestown, Virginia, the human cargo had their language and identity completely taken away from them. These people were being treated so ill willed with extreme prejudice it resulted in thousands of them being murdered daily, for the reason of just because. Just because of the color of their skin, the texture of their hair and the way they spoke. These people now called niggers were looked upon as goods, services and property. Their captors created this holocaust on colonial soil and continued these heinous crimes for hundreds of years to come.

One evening, a group of men gathered together in a dimly lit room and said,

?Enough was enough!? and came up with a plan to change these horrific acts that have become a part of their daily lives. With their fait in Gods hands and nothing to lose, these men set out in the cover of darkness to bring an end to this madness. They called themselves, ?RUFF RIDERS.? This is their story?

(This is just the opening. Be on the look out for the rest of the story.) Coming Soon.
Thu, 10 Sep 2009 17:09:00 -0400 http://www.brooklenborne.com/apps/blog/show/1725717 A Character in His Book http://www.brooklenborne.com/apps/blog/show/1421521
A Character in His Book

By Brooklen Borne

Some events may have happened in our lives that make us afraid or have us wondering why this shit is happening to us. Some of us may have been kicked off a horse and scared to get back on. Some of us may have been in a car accident and now afraid to get behind the wheel. No matter what it may be, we are too afraid to do or enjoy the good things we once did.

For me…it’s love. Everyone except for one, that I have opened my heart to unconditionally has betrayed me and used me for what they could, before discarding me like uneaten food into the trash. The people who have done this to me, I eventually found out had a different agenda.

We loved these unnamed people more than they loved us and their actions showed loud and clear as if it was a full moon illuminating the darkened sky. We have brought our sorrows to their attention countless of times, but they continued with their actions, sometimes even putting the blame on us. We’ve been hurt to the core by these unnamed people, but not spiritually.

On the day this letter was written, I came to terms that the simplest things in life that people take for granted, is an experience that I may never have the joy of knowing. The experience is a dream, a dream that could have been made into reality, only if unconditional love flowed both ways. Just imagine if we could reciprocate the same kind of love, affection, loyalty and dedication.

So like those, thrown from the horse or were in bad car accident’s; I’m also afraid. I’m afraid of my emotions to love another. Because each incident takes away a part of me and I’m slowly becoming numb.

The power of love will make a sick person well.

The power of love will give you strength, when you think you have none left in you.

The power of love will turn your cloudiest day, blue.

The power of love will also kill you, if you entrust your feelings to the wrong entity.

As we walk amongst millions in this numb state of mind, we can count on one that will always love us, never use us, play us for a fool or betray us and that’s God…God almighty. My heart is heavy and has been for a very long time, but God is the author of my life and my story has been written. I pray my story has a happy ending, for I’m just a character in his book, going through the challenges of life.
Tue, 21 Jul 2009 16:52:00 -0400 http://www.brooklenborne.com/apps/blog/show/1421521 TO THINK ABOUT http://www.brooklenborne.com/apps/blog/show/485288
For The Convenience

By Brooklen Borne

When you have a child, may it be biological, adoption or a care taker due to a family or a friend?s crisis; you are responsible for the welfare of that child. So why do some people just drop their kids off with someone to watch them when they want to go out, not knowing or caring if the sitter is child CPR qualified.

I asked a friend?s 16 year old daughter, ?Does she enjoy baby sitting her three little cousins?? They are 2, 5 and 7 respectfully. She said, ?I don?t mind. They?re not bad at all. Besides watching them gives me some spending money.? The next question I asked her was, ?If she knew CPR?? She responded, ?No!? I then came back with another question, ?What if something happens to one of them and they need CPR, what would you do?? She looked at me like a deer looking into head lights. What intrigued me more was even after the aforementioned was brought to her attention; she got on myspace and stayed on the site for about an hour. She wasn?t concerned enough to take a minute to research some information about child CPR on the net.

There?s nothing wrong with family and friends looking after your little one?s, while you have some ?me? time; just make sure the ones looking after your children have some sort of training?just in case an emergency arises.

www.Redcross.org

www.about.com:Pediatrics

www.pcc.com

www.enjoycpr.com

www.cpr-savers.com

Thu, 19 Feb 2009 22:20:00 -0500 http://www.brooklenborne.com/apps/blog/show/485288 JUST FOR LAUGHS http://www.brooklenborne.com/apps/blog/show/485280
Are Woman Driver’s Really Better Than Men?

By Brooklen Borne

Are woman drivers really better than men? It may seem like women tend to use more common since, when in the drivers’ seat; but believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. The myth about the women driver being better than men, is so convincing to society, they have the auto insurance companies bamboozled, that’s the reason their insurance is lower the men. On any given day, at any given time, in any given city, you can see women flying up and down the road; as if they were in the Indy 500. They are not speeding because there is a dyer emergency going on with them; they are being just as reckless as their male counterparts. As NaTasha Bailey stated in her article (Women Are Better Drivers Than Men! “That’s A Fact!”) I quote: “As a teenager, my mission in life was to see how fast I could make my dad’s car down the interstate,” Unquote. Do you really think that attitude and belief just go away? The answer to that question is NO! There are just as many women as men out there behind the wheel with that same type of mentality.

Men Beware! Don’t be on the road when there’s a sale at the mall; you will become a statistic. A woman driver will plow you out the way, like a city worker plowing snow out the way on a main street. She will pass you with lightning speed and will blow the horn at you, to get out her way the millisecond the red light turn green. Let’s not forget the soccer mom, she will run you over, pull in front of you if there’s 1/8 of an inch, between the two vehicles; to get those kids to the game on time. All that has been said by me above, I’ve witness and have been a victim of their excellent driving.

So to say one gender is better than the other behind the wheel, is to say G.W.B.II, is the best President this country ever had…yeah right. There are good driver’s/bad driver’s and both genders fall into the two categories evenly. Another reason why women have lower auto insurance rates is because, there are more women in this country than men, so the auto insurance companies cater to the female gender; like clothing stores do. Most women clothes are cheaper than men’s. Remember the sales.

In closing, I would like to say society would like to have you believe, women are better drivers than men; but the in reality there are no difference between the two. It all boils down to experience and consideration for the fellow driver. Statistics is nothing but numbers that you can alter to support your view; but doesn’t necessary mean it’s the truth. So ladies ask yourself, are you really better drivers than me? I believe you know the real answer…smile.
